A day in the life
In our Pittsburgh, PA facility, you’ll be the steady hand behind the safe, precise movement of heavy materials. Your shift begins with thorough equipment checks and ends with clear, accurate records of what moved where and how. In between, you’re coordinating lifts, communicating with teammates, and keeping safety at the forefront—every time.
What you will do
- Safely operate overhead/bridge cranes to lift, relocate, and set materials and equipment with precision.
- Complete pre-shift inspections and perform routine care on crane systems to keep them in top condition.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and site rules to maintain a zero-incident environment.
- Work closely with coworkers to plan lifts and ensure loads are rigged, balanced, and handled correctly.
- Record crane activities and inspection results with accuracy and timeliness.
- Immediately escalate any mechanical issues or hazardous conditions to supervision.
- Engage in ongoing safety training and contribute ideas to continuous improvement efforts.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current overhead crane operator certification.
- Hands-on experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial environment.
- Solid knowledge of safety standards and safe lifting practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Clear communicator and dependable teammate.
- Physical endurance and strength to assist with manual tasks as needed.
