Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top-notch individuals to help serve our customers as a Bricklayer/Mason Foreman at our Cleveland, OH location. If you are a self-motivated individual with great work ethic and the personality to help with customer satisfaction, then we would love to meet you!

As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the crafts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee small/medium sized crews during various projects related to masonry and bricklaying projects.
  • Lay brick, block, stone, and terracotta.
  • Perform tasks related to tuckpointing including grinding/chiseling, mixing mortar, cleaning, and brick replacement.
  • Caulk around windows, control joints, and concrete structures.
  • Supervises workers assigned to area of responsibility to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications and meets quality standards.
  • Acts as the competent person on the job by identifying existing and predictable hazards which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees and halting any operation or removes employees from environments that may be dangerous.
  • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Rigging of mobile and stationery scaffolding on structures in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and workpieces during installation.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by craft worker.
  • Supervises & coordinates the activities of assigned workers, establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules, and communicates progress to superintendent.
  • Ensures that workers know and understand the companys safety policies.
  • Maintains liaison with customers representative and advises superintendent and/or project manager of potential problems.

  • Physically, workers must be able to:
  • Stand or walk for long periods
  • Lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment
  • See (naturally or with correction)
  • Abilities to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear companys safety equipment are essential.
  • Experience in a trade or craft is required, preferably masonry and bricklaying.
