Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Brand & Social Media Engagement Specialist through 04/13/2026 at 11:59 p.m.CentralTime Zone

The Brand & Social Media Engagement Specialist plays a critical role in strengthening engagement with Chevron’s global brands across fuels, lubricants, additives, and base oils. This role sits within Chevron’s Brand & Marketing Effectiveness team and partners closely with Brand Stewards, Corporate Affairs, and Marketing Sector and Execution teams to support brand awareness, engagement, and long‑term brand health through social and digital channels.

This position is accountable for operationalizing approved, brand‑led engagement strategies through hands‑on content development, community engagement, and performance measurement. The role ensures Chevron’s brands show up consistently, compellingly, and compliantly across priority social platforms while complementing, not duplicating, Corporate Affairs ownership of enterprise reputation and Marketing Execution ownership of campaign delivery. In many cases, this role will work through agency partners and internal teams to guide, shape, and elevate branded social engagement practices.

Key Responsibilities

Brand‑Led Social Engagement and Content Development

• Create and operationalize social‑ready content and engagement approaches aligned to approved brand strategy and positioning, with an emphasis on B2B platforms such as LinkedIn.

• Translate internal and external communication needs into on‑brand, compliant social assets, including hands‑on content creation where appropriate and guidance for agency‑developed content.

• Serve as a thought partner and practitioner, balancing hands‑on contribution with advisory leadership to elevate the quality and consistency of branded social engagement.

Social Media Community Engagement (Internal and External)

• Identify and support high‑potential internal and external communities (e.g., industry audiences, customer segments, employee advocates, and leaders) to drive meaningful, two‑way engagement with Chevron’s brands.

• Partner with internal teams to enable employee and leader participation in brand‑aligned social engagement, recognizing internal channels as a critical extension of brand presence.

Stakeholder Partnership and Enablement

• Collaborate closely with Corporate Affairs to ensure brand engagement activities align with enterprise social media guardrails, policies, and reputational considerations.

• Support Marketing Execution teams by translating brand strategy and engagement insights into inputs that strengthen social amplification and audience relevance for campaigns.

• Act as a thought leadership partner to Brand Stewards, Sector teams, and leaders by providing guidance on social trends, best practices, compliance considerations, and effective use cases.

Measurement, Insights, and Continuous Improvement

• Track, analyze, and report on social media brand engagement KPIs (e.g., engagement quality, sentiment, share of voice, and brand health indicators), translating insights into clear recommendations and improvement actions.

• Collaborate with media, execution, and agency partners to optimize organic and paid social performance based on insights and evolving platform dynamics.

• Identify emerging social trends and opportunities on priority platforms and frame actionable recommendations that drive positive brand conversation.

Ways of Working and Capability Building

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a highly matrixed environment, coordinating across stakeholders, timelines, and priorities.

• Stay current on social platform changes, tools, and best practices relevant to large, regulated, global organizations, recommending continuous improvement in social capabilities and technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in brand engagement, social media, digital communications, or related roles.

• Demonstrated experience creating brand‑aligned social media content, both hands‑on and through collaboration with agencies or partners.

• Experience working with social media analytics and listening tools.

• Proven ability to drive measurable increases in brand engagement and/or brand health.

• Experience working in a large, complex organization, preferably within a regulated industry.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.

• Proven ability to manage projects end‑to‑end and work effectively across multiple stakeholders.

• Experience translating performance insights into clear actions and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience partnering with corporate affairs, brand stewardship, or reputation management teams.

• Experience working with agency partners to guide and elevate branded social execution.

• Strong understanding of AI tools and emerging technologies, particularly as applied to social media and content development.

• Experience supporting executive or senior leader external social presence.

• Energy, industrial, or similarly regulated industry experience.
