This role reports directly to the OWA Marketing Department and is vital to successfully driving revenue, building brand awareness, and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Educate guests on OWA’s brand, amenities, and promotions
- Have friendly, positive, and informative interactions; engage with guests of all ages
- Perform as one of our costume characters, such as Tuki the Toucan, and provide guests service through performance, silent gestures, and character poses
- Answer brand-related questions for guests by providing excellent brand knowledge
- Promote OWA to increase sales, brand awareness, and build guest loyalty
- Track performance of inventory and collect guests’ feedback
- Maintain communication with supervisors; answer texts and emails in a timely manner
- Transport booth and materials to event locations; set up/break down booth at the beginning and end of shift
- Store and secure company property when not in use
- Assist social media team by capturing and sharing photos/videos of consumers interacting with the brand
- Adhere to brand standards on all marketing programs
- Ability to learn subject matter related to OWA and speak confidently/professionally in public settings
- Provide guests' feedback on the brand; share new ideas with supervisor
- Consistently perform costume maintenance to ensure operational, show-ready condition
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Candidate must be 5’6"- 5’11" for this position due to costume fitment
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record; required for company auto insurance
- Prefer a candidate that is pursuing or has obtained a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- Able to perform both indoors and outdoors in full costume
- Work effectively in a hot and claustrophobic costume environment
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Physically able to balance, stoop, kneel, sit, crouch and stand as needed to perform duties
- Display good nonverbal communication skills needed to bring the character to life
- Ability to read social cues to help understand the level of interaction guests are comfortable with
- Must be willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be willing to travel to off-site events within a 300-mile radius of Foley, AL
- Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed, and demonstrate initiative
- Must be able to lift items up to 25 lbs
- Able to work outdoors in sunny, hot, humid, cold, and rainy conditions
