Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation: $18.00–$22.00 per hour

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a hands-on and customer-focused Branch Supervisor for a direct-hire opportunity in Rockford, IL. This position works closely with the Branch Manager to oversee day-to-day branch operations, including employee supervision, inventory management, warehouse activities, customer service, safety, and overall operational performance.

The ideal candidate is an experienced team leader who can balance people management with hands-on operational responsibilities. This individual will play an important role in developing employees, maintaining accurate inventory, supporting customers, and ensuring branch processes are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Branch Manager to oversee and coordinate daily branch operations.

  • Supervise day-to-day employee activities, workflows, and operational processes.

  • Manage employee attendance, time off, payroll-related activities, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and hiring decisions as appropriate.

  • Train, coach, develop, and motivate employees to improve individual and overall branch performance.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels within established headcount requirements.

  • Promote and enforce a strong culture of workplace safety and compliance with established safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of physical inventory and perform branch inventories as needed.

  • Oversee receiving, restocking, picking, shipping, returns, discrepancy processing, and inventory management activities.

  • Ensure operational work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.

  • Establish and reinforce performance expectations and standards for branch employees.

  • Foster a positive, cooperative, and productive work environment that supports employee engagement and morale.

  • Ensure customers receive timely, professional, and efficient service from branch personnel.

  • Assist with escalated customer requests, concerns, and service issues.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and the surrounding community.

  • Ensure front counter operations are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Manage the retail display area to support company goals, merchandising standards, and sales objectives.

  • Support branch productivity, customer service, and sales performance initiatives.

  • Maintain high ethical standards and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Complete required training and certification for applicable warehouse equipment, including forklifts, wave pickers, pallet jacks, and related equipment.

  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required.

  • 2+ years of previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop employees.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Comfortable overseeing both customer-facing and warehouse-related branch operations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.

  • Ability to successfully complete required warehouse equipment training and certification, where applicable.

  • Possess the visual abilities necessary to perform the position, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Travel may occasionally be required based on business needs.
