Branch Manager Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for managing and overseeing day to day branch operations and for adhering to the Credit Unions policies and procedures. Also, to provide coaching, training, sales initiatives, and motivation to staff to achieve corporate goals. The Branch Manager is also expected to build a rapport in the local community to attract new business and offer excellent member service.
Branch Manager Qualifications: An Associate or bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of management in a credit union/financial institution work environment; (or) five (5) years of consecutive management experience in a financial institution or related field. Three (3) years of sales, lending, and mortgage experience preferred. Must have reliable transportation.
Essential Elements of the Branch Manager:
Management/Branch Responsibilities:
1. Strong knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures, enforcing and continuing education on new policies, procedures, products and systems.
2. Ensure good communication between employees and management by reinforcing chain of authority, fostering an environment of fair treatment, addressing conflicts promptly, promoting teamwork and discouraging negative comments about members or co-workers.
3. Network with local businesses/realtors to build new relationships and attend community events for CU exposure.
4. Conduct the following management duties with insight and approval from your Area Branch Manager: branch audits, interviewing process and staff selection steps, employee disciplinary action process, employee performance issues, conflict management, staff performance appraisals, scheduling, delegation of job duties and communicating individual goals and focus areas to staff.
5. Monitor employee time off, attendance points, incentives and compliance training requirements.
6. Monitor ATM machine monthly, making sure machine is ADA compliant and in good repair.
7. Monitor supplies and equipment for functionality.
8. Monitor exterior landscape and interior and log any security, maintenance, or safety issues on Facility Spreadsheet and communicate with Facilities Manager to get them resolved.
