Branch Manager, Clayton, and Kirkwood

Position Summary

First Bank is seeking a results-driven Branch Manager to lead our Clayton and Kirkwood locations. Both branches are fully transformed, with routine cash transactions completed through Interactive Teller Machines, or ITMs. Clients continue to have access to cash services through the ITM channel, while branch employees focus on client engagement, relationship development, and personalized financial solutions.

The Branch Manager is responsible for the growth, performance, client experience, employee development, and operational integrity of both locations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Deposit Growth

  • Develop and execute business development strategies for the Clayton and Kirkwood markets.
  • Generate new consumer and business deposit relationships through external calling, networking, community involvement, referrals, portfolio reviews, and Centers of Influence.
  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Acquire new deposits, retain existing balances, deepen client relationships, and pursue opportunities to win back lost business.
  • Partner with Business Banking, Wealth Managament , Treasury Management, Mortgage, and other internal partners.
  • Document business development activities, opportunities, follow-up commitments, and outcomes in the Bank's designated sales systems.
  • Monitor deposit performance and adjust strategies based on results and market opportunities.

Leadership and Sales Execution

  • Lead, coach, and develop employees across both locations.
  • Establish clear expectations for client engagement, referrals, deposit growth, relationship development, and sales activities.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, one-on-one coaching, employee observations, and skill practices.
  • Inspect pipeline activity and follow-up to ensure consistent execution and accountability.
  • Provide timely feedback, recognition, performance coaching, and development planning.
  • Maintain strong visibility and leadership consistency across both branch teams.

Operations and Risk Management

  • Direct the day-to-day sales and operational functions of both branches.
  • Maintain accountability for audit integrity, regulatory compliance, operational controls, risk management, and branch security.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, training, and coverage at both locations.
  • Reinforce Bank policies, procedures, initiatives, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain established client service, CRA, and Branch Excellence standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of financial services or banking experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of management or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, deposit growth, relationship management, sales leadership, or pipeline development.
  • Experience managing multiple locations or employees across separate locations strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to coach employees, manage performance, establish accountability, and deliver measurable results.
  • Strong communication, networking, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort leading within a transformed, ITM-only branch model.
  • Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System registration required upon employment.

The range for this role takes into account many factors that First Bank considers when making hiring decisions, including but not limited to prior experience, skill set, training, and other internal business and organizational factors. First Bank generally does not hire at or near the top of the stated range. The range is driven by the geographic location of the anticipated hiring location; however, the specific range may vary depending on the geographic location for remote positions. Compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each hiring instance.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is $66,000 - $83,000, annually.
