Boys Flag Football - Assistant Coach (Fall 2026)

Job Descriptions - Coaching - Head Football Coach Rev 7/18/24 JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT FLAG FOOTBALL COACH This position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes so they may achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in flag football. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Hold a valid first aid/CPR/AED card. Certification must be obtained from a "hands-on" class (rather than online).
2. Minimum 21 years of age.
3. Demonstrated working knowledge of the sport.
4. Coaching experience preferred.
5. Demonstrated interest in and ability to work well with multicultural high school students, staff and community.
6. Willingness and ability to obtain Type II drivers license preferred.
7. Before beginning of the third year of coaching, all coaches must complete a school district approved Coaching Principals training that requires a minimum of five (5) hours of instruction, or complete the NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or attend all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School, or other Coaches School as approved by the WIAA or the local school District. After initial completion, coaches will be required to repeat this training every three (3) years.
8. Upon hiring, must complete all Renton School District and WIAA required trainings for the sport and coaching.
9. Such alternative and/or additional requirements as the district may find appropriate and acceptable. NOTE: All district coaches are required to complete online WIAA rules clinics prior to their first practice. All district coaches are required to meet WIAA coaching standards.
