Box Truck Route Driver — Automotive Distribution

Imagine Your Day on the Road

You start between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m., pick up a well‑maintained box truck (under 26,001 lbs.), and head out to serve independent tire retailers, repair shops, and dealerships across your route. With a handheld device in hand, you confirm 10–20 stops, complete pre‑trip checks, and roll out. You’re the face of U.S. AutoForce—part of U.S. Venture’s 100+ years of automotive distribution leadership—delivering tires, undercar parts, and lubricants on time, every time, in any weather.

What You’ll Do

• Drive a box truck (or similar vehicles) on assigned routes making approximately 10–20 customer deliveries per day.
• Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate logs (driver’s logs, fuel purchases, and other records) per company policy and applicable laws.
• Use a company‑provided handheld to confirm, document, and complete all deliveries.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, dispatch, and teammates; collect payments at delivery when required.
• Load and unload product safely; operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and related equipment as trained and needed.
• Lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally; exert up to 40 lbs of pushing force when handling barrels or industrial/ag tires. Use team lifts or mechanical aids for commercial tires.
• Expect an 8–12 hour workday; schedule is Monday–Friday, starting between 5:30–7:30 a.m. until route completion. Business needs may require overtime, including rotating Saturdays.

What You’ll Bring

• Age 21+ with a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company standards.
• At least 1 year of professional driving experience (cube van, box truck, or semi) and successful completion of a company road test administered by a qualified assessor.
• Valid DOT Medical Card meeting DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts/high‑reach lifts).
• Commitment to safety and procedures; strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Protective Gear & Work Environment

Steel/composite toe boots, safety vest, safety harness, seatbelt, and an SRL (self‑retracting lifeline) are part of the job. We provide all required gear except steel/composite toe boots, and everyone follows manufacturer and company safety guidelines. You’ll work indoors and outdoors in prevailing weather with moderate noise and occasional fumes from tires, parts, and lubricants.
