Box Truck Driver/Material Transporter- 1st Shift

Job Summary:

Paramont Mfg LLC is currently hiring a full-time Box Truck Driver/Material Transporter. The Box Truck Driver/Material Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of sub-assembly parts, hardware, and other materials between Paramont and Chasan warehouse. This position makes frequent trips between locations, coordinates material pickups and deliveries, and ensures materials are handled and delivered appropriately to support continuous production and warehouse operations. The position requires dependable attendance, strong organization and the ability to work independently in a fast-aced environment. 

Position Responsibilities Include

·         Safely operate the company box truck between Paramont and the Chasan warehouse, including properly backing into loading dock areas.

·         Complete required daily truck setup and ensure the vehicle is ready for safe operation.

·         Coordinate and complete frequent trips between facilities to transport sub-assembly parts, hardware, and other requested materials, maintaining an organized and efficient flow of materials to support production and warehouse operations.

·         Communicate with Production Support, Shipping/Receiving, and warehouse personnel regarding materials ready for pickup, delivery, or receipt.

·         Safely load, unload, transport, and handle materials to prevent damage.

·         Deliver hardware and other materials to the appropriate designated locations, including Shipping/Receiving for proper inventory receipt.

·         Transport other items or materials, including glue and/or isopropyl alcohol (IPA), between facilities as needed and in accordance with applicable handling and transportation requirements.

·         Follow all company safety procedures, vehicle requirements, and applicable traffic regulations.

·         Report quality or safety concerns promptly to the team lead and/or supervisor.

·         Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies while supporting workplace safety and environmental practices.

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Work Environment and Physical Expectations:

• Work is performed in manufacturing and warehouse environments, including safely loading, unloading, and maneuvering materials and the box truck in loading dock areas, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow.
• Regular exposure to fluctuating temperatures, high noise levels, airborne fumes or dust, and potential mechanical, chemical, or electrical hazards. Employees are required to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE in accordance with company policy.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking, sitting for less than 5% of the shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 75 pounds; team lift required for items exceeding 75 pounds.
• Repeatedly enter and exit the box truck throughout the workday and remain active for extended periods.
• Perform fine motor tasks requiring manual dexterity, handling, reaching, and operation of vehicle controls and equipment.
• Communicate effectively through speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Job Requirements: 

• High school diploma, GED or experience directly preferred.
• Demonstrated history of reliability, dependable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
• Excellent verbal communication, organizational skills, efficient time management and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to observe and identify departmental needs including supplies, materials, etc.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow general operating written instructions and safety procedures while working independently.
• Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver’s license required to operate the company box truck.
• Forklift certification is required.
• DOT Hazardous Materials training/certification required, including knowledge of applicable labeling and placarding requirements.
• Previous box truck, delivery, warehouse, or material-handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a box truck, including backing into loading dock areas.
• Ability to safely load, unload, transport, and handle materials.
• Ability to work efficiently while making frequent trips between locations.
