About the OpportunityDoherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Bottoming Operators for a paper bag manufacturing company in Sibley, Iowa. What You'll Do as a Bottoming Operator:- Set up and adjust bottoming machinery to produce bags according to order specifications
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently to meet production goals
- Monitor product quality and inspect finished bags for compliance with specifications
- Complete quality audits, production records, and required documentation
- Perform minor machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting as needed
- Ensure adhesives, string, and other production supplies are available during runs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and assist in other production duties as assigned
What You Need to Bring to the Bottoming Operator Role:- Manufacturing experience preferred; paper bag converting experience is a plus
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in basic English
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
- Ability to lift/carry 5-15 pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally
- Ability to read and follow safety procedures, work instructions, GMP, and SQF requirements
- Team-oriented attitude with flexibility to work in other plant areas as needed
