JOB SUMMARY
The Bottling Maintenance Mechanic supports safe, reliable, and efficient production by performing preventive maintenance, assisting with equipment repairs and rebuilds, and responding to basic equipment issues throughout the Woodbridge Bottling facility.Working with experienced maintenance personnel and Operations, Controls & Automation, Engineering, and Quality, this position develops the technical skills required to maintain high-speed bottling and packaging equipment while following safety, GMP, FSSC, sanitation, and company requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and basic adjustments on bottling and packaging equipment.Assist experienced mechanics with troubleshooting, repairs, equipment rebuilds, installations, startups, and shutdowns.Respond to production equipment calls and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting under the direction of senior maintenance personnel.Replace common wear components, including bearings, chains, belts, sprockets, rollers, guides, wear strips, seals, and related machine parts.Assist with maintenance and repair of fillers, corkers, cappers, seamers, labelers, rinsers, bottle warmers, case packers, palletizers, depalletizers, conveyors, and related packaging systems.Support equipment changeovers, setups, and adjustments while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and basic maintenance diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.Read and follow work instructions, equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and preventive-maintenance procedures.Complete work orders, preventive-maintenance records, parts usage, and equipment history accurately in the CMMS.Identify abnormal equipment conditions and communicate findings promptly to maintenance leadership and production personnel.Follow Lockout/Tagout, confined-space, hot-work, PPE, GMP, FSSC, food-safety, sanitation, and all other company safety procedures.Maintain a clean, organized work area and support continuous improvement activities.Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as required by production needs.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Assist with equipment installations, capital projects, and machine modifications as assigned.Assist with basic fabrication and component repair under appropriate supervision.Help identify spare parts and maintain accurate parts usage and inventory information.Participate in technical training and cross-training to develop mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical skills.Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required.Technical school, apprenticeship, military maintenance training, or related industrial experience preferred.Zero (0) to two (2) years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience preferred.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn high-speed manufacturing equipment.Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, fasteners, bearings, belts, chains, and other mechanical components.Ability to read basic measuring devices, work instructions, equipment manuals, and mechanical drawings.Basic welding, fabrication, pneumatic, hydraulic, or industrial electrical experience preferred.Basic computer skills and willingness to learn CMMS software.Ability to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and follow verbal and written instructions.Strong attendance, dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a 8-12 hour shift.Frequently bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb ladders, reach, and work in confined spaces.Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.Work at elevated heights using required fall protection.Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and maintenance diagnostic equipment.Work in wet, humid, hot, cold, noisy, indoor, and outdoor production environments.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
COMPENSATION
Hourly Pay Range Posted: $30.00-$43.00/hourActual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position-related factors.
