Apply for tomorrows opportunity today with VOLTVolt is immediately hiring an Accounting Specialist Contractor for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in San Diego CA Hybrid.As an Accounting Specialist you willJob DescriptionDay-to-Day Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries related to revenue adjustments accruals reclasses and corrections. Perform account reconciliations for revenue accounts AR subledger clearing accounts and unapplied cash balances. Research variances and ensure reconciling items are investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Create review and process invoices credit memo requests and other accounting adjustments within SAP or a comparable ERP system. Support month-end close activities by compiling financial data preparing schedules and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and within deadlines. Assist in maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with SOX and company accounting policies. Support process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency and accuracy. Participate in cross-functional projects system enhancements and process optimization efforts. Assist with reporting requests account analysis and ad hoc accounting projects as needed. Collaborate closely with Accounting Finance and cross-functional business partners to support operational objectives. This is a full-time contract opportunity. 5 days a week. 8 hours per day.The Ideal Candidate Will HaveRequired Skills & Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in General Accounting Accounts Receivable andor Accounts Payable within a corporate or contractor environment. Working knowledge of SAP or other large ERP systems SAP experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles including debits credits accruals journal entries and reconciliations. Experience supporting month-end close activities. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting accounting operations within aerospace defense manufacturing or other highly regulated industries. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal controls. Experience with process improvement initiatives and system implementations. Familiarity with revenue accounting and accounts receivable processes. Experience working in a fast-paced corporate accounting environment.
