Job Details

BOOKKEEPER

A fast-growing Northeast Ohio public accounting firm is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to support a variety of clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and reporting. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong customer service instincts - training is provided by experienced CPAs, with real potential to grow into a long-term role at the firm.

Responsibilities
  • Code and enter bank statement transactions and other bookkeeping activity for multiple clients
  • Complete month-end processes and reconcile client bank accounts
  • Provide backup support to other accounting team members and their clients as needed
  • Prepare payroll reports, sales tax returns, year-end tax forms, and financial statements (monthly/quarterly/annual)
  • Administer client payroll, including onboarding/termination updates, pay rate and deduction changes, timesheet review, direct deposit processing, and payroll tax deposits
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely, responsive communication

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience
  • QuickBooks proficiency (desktop and online)
  • QuickBooks Online Certification a plus
  • Sales tax return preparation experience a plus
  • Associate's degree in accounting a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • High proficiency in MS Excel
  • Proven analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Comfortable working under deadline pressure
