    Job Description:

    UofL Health - Brown Cancer Center is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Advanced Practice Provider (PA or Acute Care APRN) for its Blood Cancers, Cellular Therapeutics and Transplant (BCT) Program. The program has been recognized as high-performing in Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma by U.S. News & World Report.

    This position primarily supports a high-acuity 16-bed inpatient specialty unit. As an academic institution, we are looking for a quick learner who prefers an academic setting and desires to stay well-informed on the latest updates in cancer treatment. A physician assistant or acute care APRN is preferred. An APRN with prior oncology or BMT clinical experience may also be considered.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments, formulate treatment plans, and manage symptoms/side effects for complex blood cancer patients.

    • Clinical Duties: Detail-oriented, handle admissions, write prescriptions, interpret diagnostic tests, and manage the patient survivorship program/clinic.

    • Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, maintain constant communication with collaborating physicians, and foster a team-oriented environment.

    • Research and Education: Support evidence-based nursing practices, participate in clinical research, and maintain professional certifications through ongoing academic learning.

    Additional Job Description:

    Minimum Requirements - Physician Assistant (PA)

    • Graduate of an accredited PA program with current national certification.
    • Current licensure in the state of Kentucky and/or Indiana.
    • Current ACLS/BLS certifications.
    • Subspecialty or oncology experience is strongly preferred.

    Minimum Requirements - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited institution.
    • Current licensure in the state of Kentucky as an APRN.
    • National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or previous experience in the BMT or oncology field.
    • Current, unrestricted DEA certificate.
    • Current CPR and BLS certifications.
