Job Title: Boiler Plant Operator (BPO)
No. of Positions / Candidates Required: 4 BPOs (2 at Mather and 2 at Stockton).

Duration: 6 months contract with the possibility of another 6 months
Shift Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift (40 hours/week).
- Swing Shift: Wednesday Saturday, 2:00 PM 12:00 AM
- Night Shift: Sunday Wednesday, 10:00 PM 8:00 AM
- Shifts may include weekends and federal holidays.
- Final schedules are determined by the facility.
How Many Shifts Needed per Month: Approximately 16 18 shifts (4 shifts/week).
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks
Experience Needed:
- Minimum 1 year of documented plant operator experience.
- Boiler Plant Operator experience within the last 3 years.
- Healthcare or critical facility experience preferred.
- Ability to independently perform journeyman-level BPO duties after orientation.
Special Skills Needed:
- Knowledge of Johnson Controls Metasys and Siemens Desigo building automation systems, as applicable.
- Knowledge of boiler controls, combustion systems, steam regulation, water treatment, pumps, and safety equipment.
- Ability to monitor gauges, pressures, temperatures, and identify equipment malfunctions.
- Basic computer skills and English communication proficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor boilers, controls, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform water testing, treatment, and authorized chemical dosing.
- Monitor boiler pressures, temperatures, water levels, and combustion systems.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify malfunctions.
- Maintain operating logs, inspection records, and shift reports.
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting when authorized.
- Report equipment failures, alarms, and safety concerns.
- Maintain plant cleanliness and perform shift handovers.
- Complete required VA training and cross-training at both locations.
- Ensure the boiler plant remains staffed throughout assigned shifts.
