The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at Italian Home for Children is responsible for providing and overseeing trauma-informed behavior-based interventions throughout the residential milieu programs, as well as offering behavioral coaching and support, including direct staff training. The BCBA will serve as a part of a multidisciplinary team, providing individual behavioral interventions and coaching to children with complex behavioral and trauma profiles. The BCBA will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of maladaptive behaviors, including the development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function-based interventions, Behavior Support Plans, and clinical training for program implementation and treatment fidelity. The BCBA will provide support for children, working to increase their life skills and independence. Responsibilities include establishing individualized data collection and behavior analysis for their assigned clients. The BCBA is expected to provide clinical oversight, staff training, and support, both on/off the floor, for program managers and direct-care staff, as well as provide Behavior Skills Training and clinical triage.
This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week on-site in Jamaica Plain, with two days remote.
The BCBA will be formally trained in crisis de-escalation and restraint interventions. Must be willing to work directly with children who exhibit aggressive and self-injurious behavior. The position requires flexible hours with direct client observations across milieu programs. The BCBA reports directly to the ABA Clinical Director.

Assessment and Treatment Planning
Develop therapeutic rapport with clients and families
Provide BCBA services as outlined on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and conduct FBAs
Develop and modify Individual Behavior Support Plans; identify goals and objectives for IEPs
Attend clinical team and school meetings; perform classroom observations under direction of the ABA Clinical Director
Design and supervise behavioral interventions; provide coaching and modeling for milieu managers and staff, as well as caregivers based upon evidence-based behavioral practices
Lead social skills groups for children and caregiver coaching groups
Address some of the following domains- functional communication, cognitive functioning, safety, socialization, play/leisure, community integration, vocational skills, coping skills, self-advocacy, attending/social referencing, and reduction of maladaptive behaviors
Participation in effective discharge planning
Behavioral Documentation
Document FBA write-ups
Develop and maintain data collection system for behavioral treatment progress
Complete quarterly IEP progress reports and annual IEP goals/ objectives
Conduct and document behavioral observations across settings
Document collateral work
Provide discharge summary and treatment recommendations upon client discharge from program
Collateral Contact
Work as part of multidisciplinary team and attend staff team meetings to discuss client treatment progress
Conduct structured interviews with the child, family, and collaterals
Provide leadership/modeling for strong teamwork
Communicate with collaterals to obtain clinical information and provide treatment progress updates
Provide behavioral trainings to milieu staff and caregivers, in addition to school staff, as needed
Other Responsibilities
Provide direct behavioral crisis support as needed, including client de-escalation and/or restraints
Must be able to integrate applied behavioral research to practice and demonstrate a clinical skill set emphasizing the most effective, least restrictive approach towards program design
Prepare and facilitate staff behavioral trainings
Attend weekly individual supervision
Actively participate in clinical supervision; Demonstrate ability to accept critical feedback and directives
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
MA degree in human service field required
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with LABA preferred
Bilingual language capacity preferred
Experience with Vineland, VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or other related assessment
Ability to take initiative and guide behavioral treatment for youth
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to collect and interpret data in Excel or other software

The expected base annual salary for this role is between $85,000-$90,000 USD, dependent on experience. Equivalent salary will be offered for work in Part-Time and Per Diem capacity. This number does not reflect additional compensation-related benefits such as PTO, medical and life insurance, EAP, and the Italian Home for Children 403(b) retirement plan.
