POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team in supporting a specialized special education program focused on fostering communication skills, safe behaviors, and academic readiness for elementary students. The BCBA will work closely with a special education teacher and a team of specialized staff to provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Collaborate with IEP teams to establish and monitor behavioral goals and supports

Provide consultative and direct support for students with behavioral needs

Supervise and provide ongoing direction, support, and performance feedback to the district Behavior Technician, including assigning tasks, monitoring fidelity of implementation, and ensuring compliance with BCBA supervision requirements

Coach and train school personnel in the implementation of behavior strategies, data collection, and proactive supports

Assist in the development and support of school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations

Participate in team meetings and professional development

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field

Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate or the ability to obtain one

Experience providing behavior analytic services to children and adolescents in educational settings

Experience supervising Behavior Technicians or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) in accordance with BACB guidelines

Preferred:

Experience in public school systems

Familiarity with IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance

Training in crisis response and de-escalation (e.g., CPI, Safety-Care)

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

Part-time (.4 FTE-14 hours/week); schedule and assigned schools to be determined based on district needs

Enrichment Days: 2 additional days

May include travel between schools

Team-based environment with close collaboration across special education and general education teams

Fingerprinting fee paid by applicant, upon hire.

ESA Certificate through OSPIDistrict new hire orientation.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands may require prolonged standing, sitting, walking, verbal and written communications, hearing, lifting, exposure to student-carried diseases, and noise levels.

Mental demands include organizational skills, concentration, frequent interruptions, accurate record keeping, creativity, adaptability, working independently, yet as a team member, self-discipline in behavior and attitude, decision making, and dealing with distraught/angry/hostile individuals.

Indoor and outdoor environment; regular exposure to fumes, dust, and odors.

Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regularly work hours specified under contract.

Comply with all District Board policies and procedures. Follow all State and Federal laws.
