BNS Networks Senior Vice President & General Manager
Location: Remote / Hybrid (U.S.) w/ the Ability to Travel to Customer Sites and BNS Facilities Department: Executive Committee Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Employment Type: Full-Time
At BNS Networks, we deliver complete infrastructure lifecycle solutions for the environments where failure is not an option. From first assessment to final decommission, our capabilities span assessment and design, build and deployment, 24/7/365 operations, disaster recovery and business continuity, migration and transformation, and certified decommissioning and asset recovery. We serve data center, telecommunications, and enterprise customers nationwide and, increasingly, internationally.
BNS Networks is seeking a commercially minded and operationally rigorous Senior Vice President & General Manager to own the division as a business. This is a profit-and-loss leadership role, not a functional one: you will set the strategy, carry the number, run the delivery organization, and build the team for a division growing rapidly at the center of the AI infrastructure buildout. The ideal candidate pairs genuine fluency in data center, telecom, and IT lifecycle services with the general management discipline to scale a nationwide field services organization profitably. As SVP & General Manager, you will be the single accountable leader for how BNS Networks performs, grows, and delivers on our mission to power and connect the systems that protect us all.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Ownership & P&L Leadership
· Own the full profit and loss of the BNS Networks division, including revenue, gross margin, operating expense, EBITDA contribution, and working capital.
· Set and execute the division’s annual operating plan and multi-year strategic plan in alignment with BNS corporate objectives.
· Establish and manage the operating cadence: bookings and backlog reviews, pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, utilization, project margin, and monthly business reviews.
· Serve on the BNS Executive Committee and represent the division’s performance, risks, and investment needs to the executive team and Board.
Growth, Revenue & Customer Development
· Drive top-line growth across data center, telecommunications, and enterprise segments, working in close partnership with the Chief Revenue Officer and the corporate sales organization.
· Own executive relationships with hyperscale, colocation, carrier, and enterprise accounts, and personally sponsor the division’s largest and most strategic engagements.
· Convert single-service engagements into full lifecycle relationships, expanding from assessment or decommissioning work into build, operate, and migrate scopes.
· Partner with BNS Power to sell an integrated power-plus-network proposition, and identify joint pursuits across both divisions.
· Grow and monetize channel and cooperative relationships, including the NCTC partnership serving member operators and its asset-value-to-credit model.
· Shape pricing, commercial constructs, and margin discipline across fixed-bid, time-and-materials, and recurring-revenue engagements.
Operational Excellence & Delivery
· Lead the nationwide delivery organization of field technicians, project managers, engineers, and ITAD operations against schedule, budget, quality, and safety commitments.
· Own the performance of the division’s ITAD processing footprint across its East and West Coast operations, along with the logistics, chain-of-custody, and asset recovery economics that run through them.
· Drive workforce utilization, billability, and subcontractor strategy to protect gross margin as volume scales.
· Institutionalize repeatable delivery: Methods of Procedure, project controls, documentation standards, and clean, zero-callback handovers as the norm rather than the exception.
· Ensure SLA performance across 24/7/365 operations, remote and smart hands, and preventive maintenance programs, with ITSM integration into customer environments.
Service Portfolio & Technology Strategy
· Own the six-phase lifecycle portfolio (Assess & Design, Build & Deploy, Operate & Maintain, Protect & Mitigate, Migrate & Transform, Retire & Recover) and decide where to invest, expand, or exit.
· Position the division ahead of the AI infrastructure curve: direct-to-chip liquid cooling, 40kW+ per-rack power distribution, and GPU cluster deployment at scale.
· Evaluate and launch new service lines, geographies, and delivery models, including the European and Latin American expansion of ITAD and related services.
· Assess acquisition and partnership targets that add capability, capacity, or geographic reach, and lead post-close integration into the BNS operating model.
People & Organizational Leadership
· Build the leadership bench of the division across delivery, engineering, project management, and operations, and close the open senior roles that limit growth.
· Recruit, develop, and retain BICSI-certified technicians, licensed Professional Engineers, and technical project managers in a competitive skilled-trades market.
· Establish clear goals, incentives, and accountability that connect individual performance to division results.
· Champion a culture consistent with BNS values of Mission First, Integrity Always, and Service above Self in a veteran-founded organization.
Risk, Compliance & Quality
· Own safety performance across all field operations, including OSHA compliance and, where electrical work is in scope, NFPA 70E, holding to an incident-free standard on customer sites.
· Maintain the standards and credentials the business is sold on: TELCORDIA GR-1275 and GR-1502 compliance, BICSI-standard installation, NIST SP 800-88 Rev 1 and NSA/CSS data destruction protocols, and R2 responsible recycling through certified processing.
· Ensure customer compliance obligations are met in delivery, including data protection and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, and jurisdictional chain-of-custody for cross-border work.
· Support the company’s cybersecurity and compliance maturity roadmap as it applies to division operations and customer commitments.
· Manage contractual, insurance, and liability exposure in partnership with Finance and Legal.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
· 15+ years in technology infrastructure, data center, or telecommunications services, including 5+ years leading a business unit, division, or company with full P&L accountability.
· Demonstrated record of scaling a services business through revenue growth, gross margin expansion, and utilization improvement, rather than solely managing a steady-state operation.
· Experience leading a distributed, multi-site field workforce and a subcontractor network across the United States.
· Expertise in:
o Data center lifecycle services: fit-ups and build-outs, rack and stack, structured cabling, AC and DC power distribution, and containment.
o AI and high-density infrastructure: direct-to-chip liquid cooling, 40kW+ per-rack distribution, and GPU cluster deployment.
o ITAD and secure decommissioning: NIST SP 800-88 Rev 1, NSA/CSS standards, R2 recycling, chain-of-custody, and asset value recovery economics.
o Telecommunications infrastructure: central offices, edge facilities, OSP and fiber construction, and TELCORDIA GR-1275 and GR-1502 compliance.
o Managed operations: 24/7/365 monitoring, Site Reliability Engineering, remote and smart hands, SLA management, and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow and Jira.
o Migration and transformation: over-the-wire and forklift data center moves, consolidations, and cloud migration to AWS, Azure, and GCP.
o Standards and safety: BICSI, PE-stamped design and permitting, OSHA, and NFPA 70E.
· Commercial acumen: enterprise and hyperscale selling, MSA and SOW negotiation, pricing strategy, and channel or cooperative partnerships.
· Financial fluency: P&L management, bookings and backlog forecasting, project margin analysis, and capital planning.
· Merger, acquisition, and integration experience is highly preferred.
· Experience in a small business, veteran-owned, or SDVOSB environment, and familiarity with federal or regulated customer requirements, is a plus.
· Strong oral and written communication skills, including executive and Board-level presentation.
· Leadership presence and a demonstrated ability to mentor and grow high-performing operating teams.
· Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, project locations, and BNS facilities.
