BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join our US power analysis team as a contractor. You're one of those people who have a passion for energy markets and you want to be at the edge of change in this exciting industry. You naturally form original opinions, and you have an exceptional ability to communicate these to your audience. Your quantitative skills are strong, and you love to analyze critically complex subjects. Teamwork is important to you, and you understand how healthy debates inform solid conclusions.

BNEF is a strategic research provider covering global commodity markets and the disruptive technologies driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. Our expert coverage assesses pathways for the power, transport, industry, buildings and agriculture sectors to adapt to the energy transition. We help commodity trading, corporate strategy, finance and policy professionals navigate change and generate opportunities.

You will be based in our New York office as part of the US power team for BNEF - the world's leading independent provider of analysis, tools, data and research to decision makers leading the future of energy. Our team of experts, spread across six continents, provides independent analysis and insight, working with the largest corporations across utilities and generation, oil & gas, equipment manufacturers, banking and finance, and government.

We'll trust you to:

• Work with our models to provide forecasts on the outlook for key power markets in the US
• Build and maintain datasets and models to further our understanding of short and medium term markets
• Deliver both quantitative and qualitative research, utilizing the Bloomberg Terminal to develop research and analysis
• Effectively communicate views and findings through reports, datasets, and client-facing tools

What's the role:

• Together with other team members, identify topics of interest to clients, conduct research, and report on the findings in a timely manner - Develop and implement market-driving products, data sets, forecasts, and tools
• Collaborate with a high degree of professionalism with colleagues from different cultures and countries

Salary Range = 35 - 40 USD Hourly

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
