Advanced Health Associates Corp (AHA) is a multi-specialty medical group and management services organization (MSO) in Southwest Florida, with headquarters at 1370 E Venice Ave, Suite 102, Venice, FL 34285. We are hiring a Blood Lab Technician for our physician office laboratory (POL) in Venice.

The Role

This is an on-site role in our Venice physician office laboratory. You will draw blood, process specimens and support lab operations under supervision. We welcome experienced candidates, and we also welcome motivated candidates who can be trained.

Responsibilities

·         Do venipuncture / phlebotomy with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
·         Collect, label, process, store and send specimens according to lab procedures.
·         Run laboratory analyzers under supervision, as assigned and in line with applicable Florida and federal (CLIA) personnel requirements.
·         Keep quality control (QC) logs, maintenance records and other lab documentation up to date.
·         Handle patient intake: check patient identity and orders, and enter information accurately.
·         Keep the work area clean, stocked and safe, following infection control and OSHA standards.
·         Protect patient privacy in line with HIPAA.

Qualifications

·         MUST live locally in Venice, FL or nearby (Venice, North Port, Nokomis, Englewood, Sarasota). This role is on-site only.
·         Phlebotomy certification (for example NHA CPT, ASCP PBT or AMT RPT) preferred, or we will train.
·         Experience in a physician office lab, clinical lab or other healthcare setting is a plus, but not required. We welcome trainable candidates who want to learn.
·         A Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel license (for example, Technician) is a plus.
·         High school diploma or equivalent.
·         Attention to detail, dependability and good patient communication skills.
·         Basic computer skills.
