Blood Bank Manager

JOB SUMMARY The Blood Bank Managerorganizes, prioritizes, and supervises the specialty area and monitors and reviews results for timeless and accuracy. Areas of oversight include Outreach, Transfusion Services, and Hendrick Regional Blood Center. JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education Associates degree or equivalent Minimum Work Experience 3 years Required Licenses/Certifications Completion of formal training program in an approved MT, MLS, or MLT program Registered as a MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP),or MLT (ASCP) or equivalent. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position Deals effectively with community/consumers Demonstrated advocate of quality and cost effective care Demonstrated interpersonal skills Demonstrated understanding of management issues Effectively directs and/or supervises personnel as appropriate Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. Maintains professional appearance and decorum at all times Requires extreme diplomacy and tact Supervises 15+ employees Requires ability to handle confidential information Balance figures Compile and analyze reports. Compile statistics Compose applicable policies and procedures. Compose letters/memorandums. Coordinate meetings Develop and compile statistical data. Generate reports. Input data into computer programs. Interview others. Maintain employee files. Maintain manuals. Research information Designated Driver No OSHA Category 3 - Low Risk
