BJA MS Play Director

POSITION SUMMARY: Manages and directs the Middle School play, which consists of three performances.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Determine the play choice alongside the school administration.
• Conduct a play tryout to determine appropriate cast members
• Develop each member of the cast to understand their role and develop their character
• Determine stage blocking and flow of the moving parts of the play
• Help create and find stage props and costumes
• Manage lighting and sound needs on the stage
• Work alongside administration for performance expectations and needs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Vibrant walk with the Lord
• An understanding of directing a play
• An understanding of how to work with Middle School students
• Strong organization skills
• Strong communication skills

Required Education: High school graduate or GED

Required Experience: 1-2 years related experience
