## Job Summary

The Bistro Barista is responsible for the complete set up of the café/bistro area, pulling espresso shots, crafting specialty coffee beverages, and serving quick-serve food items to all guests. This role maintains the service, hygiene, and cleanliness of the café bar, ensuring quality presentation, guest satisfaction, and strict control over coffee bean, milk, and pastry inventory.

* Active Listening: Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying orders or concerns raised by guests and team members.

* Multitasking: Must be able to multitask and prioritize drink ticket queues to meet fast-paced morning and afternoon deadlines.

* Professionalism: Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Lexima Hotel Standards. High standards of personal appearance, grooming, proper uniform, and nametag are required.

* Problem Solving: Must be effective in handling operational issues, including anticipating morning rushes, preventing inventory shortages, and solving guest order discrepancies.

* Flexibility: Must be willing to cross-train in other hotel food and beverage areas and maintain confidential information.


## Fundamental Requirements


* Hospitality: Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times.

* Cash Handling: Process guests’ checks, collect cash, and process credit cards or room charges accurately through the Point of Sale (POS) system.

* Station Setup: Perform opening and closing side work, including calibrating espresso grinders, cleaning steam wands, and restocking syrups.

* Beverage Crafting: Prepare specialty coffees, teas, blends, and seasonal beverages according to brand standards for taste, portion control, and latte art presentation.

* Food Service: Serve pastries, breakfast items, and light bistro fare in a warm, professional manner, ensuring overall guest satisfaction.

* Cleanliness: Ensure the bistro seating and café service areas are kept clean, sanitized, and tidy.

* Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining beverage cost by following exact recipe builds. Complete daily requisitions to maintain milk, syrup, and bean par levels (first-in, first-out method).

* Equipment Care: Clean glassware, restock ceramic mugs, and ensure coffee brewing equipment is maintained and properly secured.

* Garnish Prep: Prepare all beverage garnishes, whips, and toppings.


## Qualification Standards## Education & Experience


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

* Previous specialty coffee or hotel hospitality experience is helpful.

* Must meet local age requirements for operating commercial kitchen and brewing equipment.


## Physical Requirements


* Flexible schedule and long, early-morning hours frequently required.

* Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently to lift milk crates, ice bags, or restock inventory.

* Ability to stand for the entire duration of the shift.
