JOB SUMMARY Collects and distributes newborn birth information to state and local vital statistics agencies in a timely manner. JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education High School Graduate Minimum Work Experience 1 year experience in health information management Required Licenses/Certifications Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position, Demonstrates interpersonal skills, Requires the ability to handle confidential information, and deals effectively with hospital personnel duties of position, Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. Skill sets in regards to answering telephones, balancing figures, inputting data into computer programs, maintaining filing systems, maintaining logs, updating patient charts including documentation and proofreading. Maintains work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards. Skill sets in regards to equipment including but not limited to calculators, fax machines, laser printer, personal computer, photocopier and word processor. Software mastery to include but not limited to: State of Texas Birth Certificate Registry System, 3M Softmed chart view, Chart Scan, IDX, Allscripts and additional software as needed. Designated Driver No OSHA Category 3 - Low Risk
