Job Title: Biospecimen Coordinator I
Location: Tucson, AZ
Type: Contract
Compensation: $30.00
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime may be required based on business needs)
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Biospecimen Coordinator I to support daily biospecimen intake and workflow execution. This onsite contract role is responsible for shipment processing, accessioning support, documentation accuracy, and coordination of internal requests while maintaining strict chain-of-custody practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with high-volume tasks, prioritizing requests, and communicating clearly to resolve sample issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
• Sample Intake & Triage: Receive, open, and triage incoming sample shipments, directing them to the appropriate testing locations.
• Accessioning & QC: Perform sample accessioning and conduct quality control checks on demographic data entry to ensure accuracy.
• Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding held or rejected samples, resolving issues promptly.
• Labeling & Documentation: Execute sample labeling and perform final quality control checks to verify labeling accuracy.
• Pathology Support: Image stained slides returned from Pathology, ensuring all deliverables are met within established timelines.
• Logistics Coordination: Manage internal and client requests, including global sample shipments, while maintaining rigorous chain of custody standards.
• Operational Management: Oversee the team inbox to ensure all requests are tracked and completed.
• Process Improvement: Lead and drive deliverables for assigned process improvement workstreams within the BioSample Management Group.
• General Support: Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

• Multitasker: You can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience with biosample management and accessioning; good Google Suite/Microsoft Office skills (e.g., MS Word/Excel, Google Docs/Sheets); experience with LIMS or other sample tracking software.
