Biospecimen Coordinator I

What You'll Do:
- Receive, open, and triage incoming sample shipments, directing them efficiently to testing locations.
- Perform sample accessioning and conduct quality control checks on demographic data to ensure accuracy.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients concerning sample holds or rejections, providing prompt resolutions.
- Label samples meticulously and perform final QC checks to verify labeling precision.
- Support pathology by imaging stained slides and ensuring timely delivery of results.
- Manage logistics for sample shipments, both internally and internationally, maintaining strict chain of custody protocols.
- Oversee team inbox requests, tracking and completing all operational requests accurately.
- Lead process improvement initiatives within the BioSample Management Group to enhance workflows.
- Provide general operational support as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-5 years of relevant experience in sample handling, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Skilled in multitasking and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with sample tracking or laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Prior experience working in a biomedical or research setting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in biosample management, logistics, or related operational roles is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- This is an onsite role requiring availability during standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Overtime may be required based on project needs.
- Ability to handle global sample shipments and coordinate logistics effectively.
