Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician – Production Services
Location: 4038 Avenida De La Plata, Oceanside, CA 92056
Contract Duration: 12 Months — Potential Extension or Full-Time Conversion
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour (W2)

Position Overview
Client is seeking a Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician to join the Production Services team in Oceanside, CA. This role supports the manufacturing of medicines in a highly automated, controlled, and regulated environment.
The Manufacturing Technician will follow established manufacturing recipes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and cGMP requirements while operating production equipment and supporting activities across raw material handling, cell culture, purification, and other manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on role that requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manufacturing activities according to approved recipes, SOPs, and cGMP requirements.
  • Weigh, dispense, and aliquot raw materials into intermediate bulk containers for manufacturing use.
  • Prepare materials and small-scale solutions to support single-use manufacturing operations.
  • Kit and stage materials required for production activities.
  • Wash, autoclave, and prepare equipment parts, components, and assemblies.
  • Support environmental monitoring activities throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Operate and interact with manufacturing equipment and automated control systems.
  • Complete manufacturing documentation and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support Upstream and Downstream manufacturing operations as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, manufacturing protocols, and quality standards.
  • Work effectively within a team in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain required training, certifications, and annual re-qualifications.
Manufacturing Environment
Client  manufacturing process includes both Upstream and Downstream operations.
Upstream Manufacturing
Upstream activities include:
  • Preparing media and materials required for cell growth.
  • Maintaining cell cultures.
  • Setting up and breaking down stainless-steel bioreactors.
  • Supporting process scale-up and related manufacturing activities.
Downstream Manufacturing
Downstream activities include:
  • Preparing buffers.
  • Supporting product isolation, purification, and concentration.
  • Cleaning and steaming-in-place chromatography equipment.
  • Supporting formulation activities.
Production Services
This position specifically supports the Production Services area, including:
  • Raw material weighing and aliquoting.
  • Material kitting for single-use operations.
  • Small-scale solution preparation.
  • Washing and autoclaving equipment and components.
  • Equipment and assembly preparation.
  • Environmental monitoring throughout the facility.
Work Schedule
This is a 24/7 manufacturing operation, and candidates must be available to work the assigned manufacturing shift.
10-Hour Day Shift
6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Available schedules:
  • Sunday – Wednesday
  • Wednesday – Saturday
10-Hour Swing Shift
12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Available schedules:
  • Sunday – Wednesday
  • Wednesday – Saturday
Training & Onboarding
Initial onboarding may include several weeks of:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This may be followed by several weeks of on-the-job training, typically:
  • Monday – Thursday, or
  • Tuesday – Friday, depending on the assigned shift.
Following successful completion of onboarding and training, the technician will transition to the assigned manufacturing schedule.
Shift assignments are based on business needs, production schedules, and the candidate's qualifications and strengths. Schedules may change based on operational requirements.

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a cleanroom environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and/or ISO standards is highly desirable.
  • Experience in biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Experience operating complex mechanical or manufacturing equipment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) or other manufacturing automation is preferred.
  • Experience in washing, autoclaving, processing, and assembling manufacturing equipment is a plus.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work assigned manufacturing shifts and required overtime as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing required company-provided gowning and PPE.
  • Ability to use computer systems and interfaces required to operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to successfully complete job-related tests, inspections, training, and certifications required for a cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Must maintain and re-qualify for required training and certifications annually, as applicable.
  • Ability to climb up to approximately six flights of stairs per day while moving throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when required.
  • Must comply with cleanroom restrictions, which may prohibit makeup, jewelry, and other personal items inside controlled areas.
Education & Experience
A scientific or technical degree is preferred, including:

Previous experience in a GMP-regulated environment is highly desirable.
