Title: Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician – Production Services
Pay: $21.00/hour
Location: Oceanside, CA 92056 – Onsite
Duration: 2 year contract
Hours: 10-hour shifts; Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Swing Shift: 12:30 PM–11:00 PM
Overview
Genentech is seeking a Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician to support the production of medicines in a highly automated, regulated manufacturing environment. This position focuses on Production Services and requires strict adherence to safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Job Description
  • Weigh and portion raw materials into bulk containers.
  • Prepare material kits and small-scale solutions for single-use operations.
  • Wash, autoclave, assemble, and prepare equipment parts.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Operate computerized manufacturing equipment according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records and required cGMP documentation.
  • Follow cleanroom gowning, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete annual training, testing, and job-related certifications.
  • Work required overtime and alternate shifts based on production needs.
  • Complete initial training that may temporarily follow a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.
Required Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Comfortable using computers and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb up to six flights of stairs daily.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to wear required cleanroom attire and follow restrictions regarding makeup, jewelry, and personal items.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift and required overtime.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a cleanroom or cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO or FDA standards.
  • Experience operating complex mechanical or automated equipment.
  • Experience with washing, autoclaving, processing, or assembling manufacturing components.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical, electronics, chemical, food, cosmetics, or medical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
