    SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

    Position Overview Section

    The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) provides preventive maintenance, repair, installation, testing, calibration, and lifecycle support for medical and simulation equipment supporting the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) Medical Readiness mission. The BMET ensures equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force, OSHA, FDA, and accreditation standards while supporting mission readiness across multiple medical facilities.

    This position requires strong technical expertise in biomedical systems, electronics troubleshooting, and medical equipment maintenance, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on medical and simulation equipment.
    • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, electronic test equipment, and manufacturer procedures.
    • Repair and replace defective electronic and mechanical components including motors, transformers, circuit boards, and related assemblies.
    • Install, configure, calibrate, test, and de-install biomedical equipment.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and equipment records within the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system or other designated databases.
    • Evaluate equipment condition and recommend repair, upgrade, replacement, or disposal.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DoD, Air Force, FDA, NFPA, NEC, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, CAP, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Perform preventive maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and safety inspections.
    • Conduct safety assessments prior to maintenance activities and follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures when working on electrical systems.
    • Utilize appropriate PPE and electrical safety equipment during all maintenance activities.
    • Train medical personnel on the proper operation and basic preventive maintenance of medical equipment.
    • Safely operate Government vehicles to service equipment located in multiple facilities.
    • Maintain current technical knowledge through manufacturer training and technical publications.

    Minimum Position Requirements

    • Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • Minimum two (2) years of Biomedical Equipment Technician experience.
    • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining complex biomedical equipment.
    • Experience performing component-level electronic troubleshooting and system configuration management.
    • Strong knowledge of electronic principles, integrated systems, and electromechanical equipment.
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
    • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in complex medical systems.
    • Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulatory standards including DoD, OSHA, FDA, NFPA, NEC, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, and CAP requirements.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Valid U.S. driver's license.
    • Ability to lift up to 51 pounds frequently and heavier equipment with appropriate lifting techniques.
    • Ability to pass a color vision test.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Knowledge of applicable Air Force standards and procedures.
    • Ability to obtain required security and facility access.
    • Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to contract performance.

    Highly Desired Qualifications

    • Military medical treatment facility experience.
    • Military deployment experience.
    • Experience using Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS).
    • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent professional certification.
    • Experience supporting biomedical equipment in Department of Defense healthcare environments.
