Are you enthusiastic about biology, human anatomy, physiology, and the power of education to transform lives? SUNY Niagara is seeking an innovative, student-focused Biology/Anatomy & Physiology Instructor to shape the future of aspiring healthcare and science professionals. This is a full-time, ten-month, Tenure-track position within our Business & STEM divsion.

In addition to the base salary, there are many ways to increase the salary further by teaching overload, teaching summer courses, doing special assignments etc. There is a tenure track pathway for promotion to higher level salaries of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor.

The start date of the position will be January 19, 2027.

Typical Work Activities

  • Instructional Delivery: Teach a full-time course load (typically 15 credits per semester) on campus, online, or in a hybrid format.
  • Curriculum Development: Design, review, and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments to ensure alignment with industry standards and student learning outcomes.
  • Student Support: Maintain regular office hours to provide academic advisement and mentorship to students.
  • Administrative Reporting: Track attendance, complete census reports, and submit final grades in accordance with college deadlines.
  • Assessment: Develop and report on student learning outcomes (SLOs) to support institutional accreditation and continuous improvement.
  • Institutional Engagement: Attend and actively participate in department and divisional meetings, college-wide committees, and professional development opportunities.
  • Community Relations: May assist in building partnerships with local industries to enhance student internship and career opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to teach and mentor a diverse student population with varying levels of academic preparation.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, and administration.
  • Proficiency in developing and presenting instructional information through modern technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or a closely related discipline.
  • One (1) year of full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience at the post-secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and laboratory techniques.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline
  • Teaching experience at a community college
  • Experience using publisher-based educational technology (or OER) and learning management systems such as Brightspace
