Biologist (ARA) - II (Associate)

As a key member, you'll design and execute complex experiments using state-of-the-art techniques, primarily focusing on in-vivo dosing, sample collection, and analysis in rodent models. JSG is seeking a Biologist (ARA) - II (Associate) for our client in South San Francisco CA
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of biological science, supporting target identification and validation through innovative invivo and ex vivo experiments.
As a key member, you'll design and execute complex experiments using state-of-the-art techniques, primarily focusing on in-vivo dosing, sample collection, and analysis in rodent models. Your work will directly impact our understanding of biological mechanisms related to insulin resistance and other metabolic disorders, driving the discovery pipeline forward.

Pay $39.46/hour

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience with invivo dosing, blood collection, and handling of small laboratory animals, especially rodents
• Proficiency with immunoassays (bead or plate-based) and molecular biology techniques such as western blotting and qPCR
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present data to scientific teams
• Scientific productivity demonstrated through publications or presentations is a plus

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in inflammation, adipose, liver, or muscle biology, or immunology related to insulin resistance
• Familiarity with target validation, model development, and disease mechanisms
• Basic computational skills and data analysis proficiency

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of industry experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant work
• Industry experience in biological research, especially in in vivo models, is highly desirable
• PhD candidates will be considered overqualified

Other Requirements:

• This role is onsite, requiring 40 hours per week, primarily Tuesday through Saturday, with some weekend work
• Must be comfortable with in-vivo procedures and laboratory safety standards
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a fast-paced research environment
