Starting Pay is $16.00 an hour, $24.00 an hour for OT hours

Schedule is 6 am to 4:30 pm, working Monday through Friday, Saturdays 6 am to 2 pm, as needed.

Typical Bindery Machine Operator duties include

• Cutter Set up, adjustment and operation
• Set up a variety of auxiliary binding machines containing several cutting heads, control surfaces or other attachments like folders, cutters and drills
• Processes printed sheets into final books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines or other completed products
• Inspect equipment for safety issues  
• Monitor quality, output and productivity
• Working knowledge of the set up, adjustment, procedures, capabilities and limitations of equipment to perform the full range of specialized folding or printed materials to complete a finished product

Ideal Candidates will have these qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret written work orders containing bindery requirements which indicate the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the finished product.
• Experience with Polar Cutter machines or similar cutters.
• Must be able to calculate distances, clearances and fits in combining machines.
• Skill in using a full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the bindery machines.
• General knowledge of the more complex bindery machines like automatic binding machines aka perfect binders, multiple station collators and folding units
• Thorough knowledge of set up, operating equipment, procedures, capabilities and limitations of one or more bindery machines to perform the full range of folding, collating and cutting printed materials to complete a finished product
• Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock
• Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color and quality of paper stock being used to prevent waste.
