We are looking for an experienced BIM Technician with strong Revit & Stratus background to support the development and coordination of detailed piping and mechanical systems.
Job Title: Revit & Stratus Technician Location: Hammond, IN (100% onsite, local candidates only) Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire
Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain detailed 3D models in Revit and Stratus for piping and mechanical systems
Create fabrication and installation drawings using project specifications, construction documents, and engineering information
Model piping, equipment, fittings, supports, valves, and other related mechanical components
Coordinate mechanical and piping models with structural, architectural, electrical, and other MEP disciplines
Review models and drawings for accuracy, constructability, completeness, and potential conflicts
Perform clash detection and make necessary adjustments to address coordination and modeling issues
Read and interpret construction documents, engineering drawings, and project specifications
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, detailers, and field personnel throughout the project
Update models and drawings to reflect design revisions, project changes, and field conditions
Follow established project standards, modeling practices, and file organization procedures
Complete assigned work within project schedules while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality
Requirements
Education – Relevant education or technical training in BIM/VDC, mechanical design, drafting, construction, or a related discipline is preferred
BIM Technician – At least 5 years of professional experience in BIM/VDC, mechanical detailing, piping, or a related field; able to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and construction drawings; understands BIM coordination and clash detection; able to produce accurate models and drawings
Autodesk Revit – Must have strong proficiency
Stratus – Experience required, including strong knowledge of its fabrication/detailing workflows
Piping – Professional experience and solid understanding of piping systems, fittings, valves, equipment, and supports
Soft Skills – Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams; strong attention to detail, can work well with technical and non-technical teams and project stakeholders
