Job Title: Billing Specialist
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)

Contract | Max PR: $18.50/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to review and analyze carrier freight bills, identify billing discrepancies, resolve duplicate or incorrect charges, and support the timely billing of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze carrier freight bills for accuracy.
  • Identify and proactively resolve billing errors and duplicate charges.
  • Communicate with internal teams, customers, and transportation providers to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Obtain required documentation from transportation providers to support customer billing.
  • Work with internal departments to resolve issues preventing orders from being billed.
  • Maintain quality and service standards when working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure billing issues are addressed promptly and appropriate parties are notified.
  • Develop an understanding of internal systems and technologies used for daily billing activities.
  • Support efforts to improve billing-cycle efficiency from carrier freight bill through customer payment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing billing processes and reduce delays.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Billing
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Accounts Payable
    • Audit
    • Transportation/Logistics
    • Load Planning
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and present information clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in freight, transportation, logistics, or carrier billing.
  • Experience identifying billing discrepancies, duplicate invoices, or payment issues.
  • Experience with billing or transportation management systems.
