As a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, you'll support accurate billing, timely reimbursements, and compliance throughout the revenue cycle. You'll work closely with the billing team to optimize insurance claims processing and support the practice's financial health.
What You'll Do
As a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for
Review provider documentation and accurately assign E/M codes for office visits and outpatient services.
Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
Verify documentation supports medical necessity and appropriate code selection.
Assist with claim corrections, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up.
Stay current on payer policies, coding changes, and regulatory requirements while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have
Strong knowledge of E/M coding, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM standards.
Experience with insurance claim submission, denial management, and payment reconciliation.
Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, medical billing software, and practice management tools.
At least four years of related experience; CPC, COC, CCS-P, or equivalent certification is preferred.
