Overview: North Florida Surgeons is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service. We have over 350 medical providers and physician extenders and are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Billing /Patient Accounts Supervisor to lead and support our patient accounts team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to billing, collections, account resolution, and customer service, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities: - Supervise and coordinate the activities of the patient accounts team, including billing, follow-up, and collections.
- Monitor performance metrics and ensure timely and accurate processing of claims and payments.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to promote professional development and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve account discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA and billing guidelines.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to enhance revenue cycle performance.
- Respond to escalated patient inquiries and resolve complex account issues.
- Prepare reports and provide analysis to leadership regarding account status, trends, and team performance.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare billing, patient accounts, or revenue cycle operations.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance billing, coding, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
