Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to process medical claims, manage billing and collections, and ensure accurate reimbursement from insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers. The ideal candidate will review claims, resolve payment issues, maintain billing records, and collaborate with internal departments to support efficient revenue cycle operations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

  • Medical billing and collections experience preferred

  • Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Office applications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, prepare, submit, and process medical claims accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims to ensure proper reimbursement.

  • Communicate with insurance companies, government agencies, patients, and internal departments regarding billing inquiries.

  • Research and resolve claim discrepancies, payment issues, and billing errors.

  • Process account adjustments, write-offs, credits, and other billing transactions as appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate billing documentation and patient financial records.

  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

  • Meet established productivity and quality standards.

  • Provide general administrative and office support as needed.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
