About the Role:Western Pacific Psychological is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Coordinator to join our growing team in Van Nuys, CA. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of a dynamic behavioral health organization where your work directly supports quality patient care.
Responsibilities:- Process and submit medical/insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances and unpaid claims
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts
- Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve billing disputes and claim rejections
- Prepare and review billing reports to identify trends and discrepancies
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding
Requirements:- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a behavioral health or mental health setting
- Familiarity with CPT codes, ICD-10 coding, and insurance claim processes
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial insurance billing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance representatives
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
