Job Summary: The Billing Associate is responsible for the compilation of data, calculation of fees and charges, and the creation of detailed invoices for billing purposes.Essential Job Functions:Perform bookkeeping tasks, including accurately posting data and maintaining records of invoices and supporting documentsMust verify accuracy of billing data, revise any errors, and prepare itemized bills or invoicesGenerate and review purchase orders, scale tickets, charge slips, manifests, billing documents, shipping labels, credit memorandums, and credit formsResolve discrepancies in accounting records and proactively contact customers to obtain, verify, and update account informationCompute costs and calculate rates, credit terms, charges, or rates for goods or services to complete accurate billing documents, considering multiple companiesPosting data and keeping other relevant recordsCreates itemized statements, bills, invoices, and other necessary billing documents.Generates shipping labels and billing documentsPerforms other related duties as assignedQualifications:Required:High school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving recordMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol programProficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, Google Workspace, and 10 keyBasic understanding of clerical and administrative proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to solve problems as they ariseAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environmentPreferred:Entry level experience in a clerical or office administration role

Physical Demands: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended period. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed primarily in an office environment and occasionally, in a commercial motor vehicle terminal operations environment thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
