Role Summary
The Billing and Revenue Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cash flow for project based work. This position supports the integrity of financial reporting by ensuring all billing and revenue activities align with established accounting standards and contractual requirements.
In this role, you will manage billing cycles, apply revenue recognition guidance, and contribute to monthly and quarterly close processes. You will work closely with project managers, finance, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and provide insights that support informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices in alignment with contract terms using Oracle Project Accounting
Validate project setup, funding limits, billing rules, and milestones prior to invoice generation
Partner with project managers and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries
Maintain accurate and complete billing documentation to support monthly and quarterly close activities
Apply revenue recognition standards to project based contracts, ensuring proper timing and accuracy
Reconcile billed, unbilled, and deferred revenue balances during the close process
Support audits, financial reporting, and variance analysis related to revenue and billing
Collaborate with accounting and finance leadership to enhance billing processes and controls
Key Requirements
3 or more years of experience in billing, revenue accounting, or project accounting environments
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Hands on experience with Oracle Financials, including Project Accounting and Accounts Receivable
Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross functional teams
Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast paced environment
