• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during executive board meetings, client presentations, and operational strategy sessions.
• Translate technical reports, legal contracts, business proposals, and internal corporate announcements between Japanese and English.
• Accompany Japanese executive leadership to off-site business meetings, industry conferences, and site visits across North America.
• Facilitate cross-cultural communication and misunderstandings between local U.S. managers and Tokyo headquarters.
• Prepare terminology glossaries and translation guidelines to maintain consistency across all corporate documentation.
• Coordinate administrative scheduling and logistical support for visiting executives from global offices.
• 2-4 years of professional experience as an in-house or freelance Japanese-English interpreter and translator, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese, including mastery of Keigo (formal business honorifics) and complex business terminology.
• Professional English language proficiency for clear, articulate verbal interpretation and precise written translation.
• Strong knowledge of corporate business etiquette and cross-cultural communication practices in both Japan and the U.S.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent active listening skills, memory retention, and the capability to maintain confidentiality regarding strategic decisions.
