Immediate Bilingual Referral Coordinator needing 1 year healthcare office, medical admin & referral management experience required onsite in Dallas, TX. Collaborates with clinical staff and clinical specialists to bring timely, quality referrals. Familiar with EMR system

Pay: $18.06 - $19/hr Based on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate seamless referrals and appointments. Your bilingual proficiency will enable effective communication with diverse patient populations, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate care. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, medical office experience, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare processes, including managed care and medical coding. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to improved patient outcomes through efficient coordination and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the referral process from initiation to completion, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and submitted promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies in both English and the second language to clarify referral requirements and follow-up.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification procedures, to facilitate authorized services.
  • Maintain detailed medical records related to referrals, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting referrals and communicating with healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating follow-up care, and ensuring timely patient engagement.
  • Apply knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems for accurate documentation and billing processes.
  • Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues related to referrals or insurance claims.
  • Stay informed about managed care policies and updates to ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of managed care processes, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and data security.
  • Experience with insurance verification procedures and medical records management.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken by the patient population.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders including patients, providers, and insurers. This role is essential for maintaining efficient referral workflows that enhance patient care quality.
