Description

Job Summary: As a Pharmacy Technician, you are responsible for demonstrating the highest standards of patient care supporting the pharmacy team in promptly, safely, and accurately filling patients' prescriptions while providing compassionate service that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the pharmacist in serving patients and maintaining the pharmacy department.
  • Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening.
  • Greet customers and answer their questions.
  • Receive prescriptions and verify their validity.
  • Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
  • Resolve issues as they arise (e.g., rejected insurance claims).
  • Select the appropriate medication and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.
  • Sort, stock, label medications, and monitor inventory.
  • Perform administrative tasks (e.g., record-keeping) as assigned.
  • Comply with all security measures, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Stay updated on HIPAA, HITECH, and FWA credentialing requirements.
  • Assist the pharmacist with clinical and non-clinical operations, documenting and reporting any quality issues as needed.
  • Package orders according to policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate medication delivery locations and estimated delivery times with patients.
  • Arrange for medication delivery via courier or shipping services.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims.
  • Answer incoming calls for prescription orders and refills, and make outgoing follow-up calls to patients regarding their medications.
  • Triage calls and escalate them to the appropriate leadership when necessary.
