We are seeking an experienced, bilingual OB/GYN Medical Assistant who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working in a busy medical office. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy and injections, as well as excellent communication and patient-service skills.
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Minimum 2 years of medical-office experience
- Fluent in English and Spanish — required
- Phlebotomy experience — required
- Experience with injections
- Comfortable assisting with gynecologic procedures
- Strong patient communication skills
- Comfortable answering phones and assisting patients
- Able to communicate laboratory/test results to patients as directed by the provider
- Computer/EMR experience
- Athena experience preferred
- OB/GYN experience preferred
- Professional, dependable, compassionate, and organized
Main responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Gather the patient’s chief complaint and reason for visit and document relevant information for the provider
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Assist the physician with gynecologic procedures
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Administer injections as directed
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Use Athena EMR
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Return patient calls
- Communicate test/lab results to patients as directed by the provider
- Assist with scheduling and other front-office responsibilities when needed
- Provide excellent, compassionate patient care
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
