About the Role:ROP Consultants Of Florida PA is looking for a bilingual Medical Office Specialist to join our specialized pediatric ophthalmology team in Boca Raton, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young patients and their families by delivering exceptional front-office support in a caring, fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities:- Greet and check in pediatric patients and their families in both English and Spanish
- Schedule and confirm appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate referrals
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and process co-pays and billing
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and patient files
- Serve as a bilingual liaison between clinical staff and Spanish-speaking patients/families
- Answer multi-line phone system, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to providers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies
Requirements:- Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) — required
- Prior experience in a medical office, ophthalmology, or specialty clinic setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing, insurance verification, and prior authorizations
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and general office software
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a high-volume pediatric specialty environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office certification a plus
