LOCATION: Webster Elementary School

START DATE: Start date: August 25, 2026 (meetings), September 1, 2026 (orientation)

HOURS: 5.75 hours/day, Schedules vary depending on the needs of the students

SALARY RATE: $19.36 per hour - Grade F - Step 1

JOB DESCRIPTION: This bilingual instructional paraprofessional will work primarily under the direction of classroom teachers, as well as the building principal. In addition to providing general classroom support and supervision of students during class and recess times, this position also involves working with our bilingual elementary students and families so they may actively engage in their educational experience.

Due to the work with our bilingual population, this individual must be able to speak in both English and Spanish. In addition to general instructional support, duties may include interpreting for Spanish speaking parents, providing instruction and support related to language needs, and translating documents as needed.

The job duties of paraprofessionals vary depending on the needs of the teachers and students. In addition to the bilingual duties listed above, this position also involves (but is not limited to):

  • Supporting classroom teacher(s) with instruction of individual, small or large groups of students in the primary grades;
  • Assisting students to remain on-task, complete assignments, and engage in classroom activities;
  • Supporting positive behaviors, fostering relationships and maintaining discipline; and
  • Year-round outdoor recess supervision.
