Description

Bilingual HR Coordinator
Location: South Gate, CA
 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
 Employment Type: Full-Time, 100% Onsite
 Pay: Approximately $27 to $32+/hour DOE

We are seeking a Bilingual HR Coordinator to support day-to-day Human Resources functions for a fast-paced organization in South Gate, CA. This position will have a strong focus on Workers' Compensation and Benefits Administration, along with general HR support and employee relations.
The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish and has hands-on experience administering both workers' compensation claims and employee benefits. Candidates who are particularly strong in both areas may be considered for compensation above the targeted range.

Compensation
Compensation will depend heavily on experience:
  • Workers' Compensation + Benefits Administration experience: Targeting approximately $30/hour or higher, depending on depth of experience
  • Strong experience in either Workers' Compensation OR Benefits Administration: Candidates may still be considered, with compensation generally below $30/hour
  • Additional HR experience may support higher compensation consideration

Key Responsibilities
Workers' Compensation
  • Manage and coordinate workers' compensation claims from initial injury reporting through claim resolution
  • Prepare and maintain injury reports, claim documentation, and related HR records
  • Communicate with employees, supervisors, insurance carriers, claims administrators, and medical providers as needed
  • Monitor open claims and follow up on claim status, restrictions, return-to-work dates, and required documentation
  • Coordinate modified duty and return-to-work processes
  • Maintain accurate workers' compensation files and ensure timely reporting
  • Support OSHA-related injury documentation and workplace safety reporting as applicable

Benefits Administration
  • Support day-to-day administration of employee health and welfare benefits
  • Assist employees with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and other benefit-related questions
  • Process new enrollments, benefit changes, qualifying life events, and terminations
  • Support annual open enrollment activities
  • Communicate with benefit carriers and vendors to resolve enrollment or coverage issues
  • Maintain accurate benefits records within HR systems
  • Help employees understand available benefits, eligibility, and enrollment procedures
  • Support COBRA and leave-related benefits coordination as applicable

General HR Support
  • Serve as an accessible HR resource for employees, including a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce
  • Assist with onboarding, new-hire paperwork, employee records, and HR documentation
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and HR records
  • Assist with employee questions regarding policies, benefits, workplace injuries, and HR procedures
  • Support employee relations and communication between employees, management, and HR
  • Assist with additional HR projects and administrative responsibilities as needed


Required Qualifications
  • Fluent bilingual Spanish and English required
  • Previous Human Resources experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, Benefits Coordinator, Workers' Compensation Coordinator, or similar capacity
  • Hands-on experience with Workers' Compensation and/or Benefits Administration
  • Strong preference for candidates experienced in both Workers' Compensation and Benefits
  • Understanding of HR confidentiality and employee documentation requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple employee matters simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working directly with employees at all levels
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in South Gate, CA, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Highly Preferred
  • Experience supporting warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, furniture, or other high-volume hourly workforces
  • Experience managing workers' compensation claims in environments with a higher volume of workplace injuries
  • Benefits enrollment and open enrollment experience
  • Experience coordinating return-to-work and modified-duty programs
  • Familiarity with California HR and workers' compensation requirements
  • HRIS experience
