BICSI TELECOMMUNICATIONS CABLING TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS

• Current BICSI certification, preferably technician level or higher
• Proven structured cabling installation experience and proficiency with testing and installation equipment
• Thorough understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and standards
• Ability to accurately read and follow construction drawings and technical specifications
• Ability to complete high-quality work independently, with a team, and with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various environments/conditions (construction sites, data centers, on ladders, in confined spaces, etc.)
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly, including some overnight travel as needed

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE

As our BICSI Telecommunications Cabling Technician, you'll spend your time traveling to assigned job sites to service and install commercial and industrial structured cabling systems. We'll teach you the "CKC way", setting clear performance expectations and quality standards while you're in the field. At the job site, you'll discuss cabling needs with clients, project managers, and team members before getting to work. You'll follow blueprints, schematics, and drawings to properly install, terminate, test, and label copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic systems. As you work, you'll comply with all codes, regulations, and company standards. You'll also troubleshoot existing systems and perform general maintenance as needed. Once the job is done, you'll verify that everything works and thoroughly clean your work area.
