Per Diem Variable Shift

Summary

The Therapist is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient centered care, under the direction of the department manager and supervisor. Proficiency in the fundamentals of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Qualifications

Required:

• Masters degree in Behavioral Health related field
• Nevada state Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Professional Counselor required
• Must complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred:

• Three (3) years of clinical experience working with psychiatric or chemical dependency patients
• Inpatient or outpatient experience
• Experience with LOCUS (Level of Care Utilization System)
• Experience with ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine)
• Holds two or more of the following licenses:
• Nevada state Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker
• Nevada state Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist
• Nevada state Licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor

Essential Functions

• Performs patient evaluations and assessments through interviews with the patient, family members, friends, and a review of the medical records including social, developmental, and medical history
• Identifies presenting problem and determines strengths, resources, and eligibility for applicable programs
• Participates in treatment planning, attends treatment team meetings and reports on patients progress and makes recommendations for changes in the treatment plan
• Performs crisis interventions for patients who lack the ability to cope with their current stressors
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy with patients, applying a variety of therapeutic techniques
• Evaluate necessary daily living skills, education and vocational needs, and plan interventions to achieve treatment goals
• Develop and implement discharge and after care plans suitable to the patients condition and available resources
• Performs psychosocial evaluations, consults with physicians and staff regarding the patient's plan of care
• Documents findings, patient progress, and changes in the plan of care in the electronic medical record
• Review and evaluate program services to include evidence based practices and conform to agency policies
• Provides clinical supervision over lower level professional staff and interns as assigned
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
